Organizations that use Fingerprint screening (such as LiveScan) are a primary focus of concern for us.
Contrary to what today’s TV shows might lead us to believe, fingerprint screening is potentially one of the worst manners in which to background screen your applicant pool.
In fact, SHRM (Society of Human Resource Management) has published a number of articles detailing the failings of fingerprint screening to its 285,000 Human Resource Professional Members. After explaining that there is no central shared repository for fingerprints in this country, they go on to explain that a fingerprint background screening has less than a 20% chance of finding records on a given applicant.
Additionally, fingerprint screening can take weeks to complete and almost always costs more than our “Best Screening” method of running 7 Years of “Live” Counties on your applicant.
For these reasons, fingerprint screening is one of the few background checks that we do not offer at Christian Background Checks.
